Muharram in Lucknow: On Sunday, the traditional Matami procession of the 10th Muharram in the capital Lucknow concluded peacefully amidst heavy security arrangements. The procession was taken up from Nazim Shah Imambara in Nakhas area of the historic Chowk police station area of Lucknow, in which a large number of Akidatmand participated with gum and akidat. The procession was taken out on a traditional route via the narrow streets and major routes of Old Lucknow. During this time, the devotees of the Shia community were seen mourning, taking out the fresh and alum among the forefathers of Hussain. People were remembering the sacrifice of martyr Imam Hussain with ashes on the head in black clothes and chains in their hands.
