Army was looking for terrorists for a long time
One of the slain terrorists was Shahid Kutte, who was a resident of Shopian and joined Lashkar on 8 March last year. Shahid was recently involved in the murder of a BJP sarpanch in Herpora area of Shopian on 18 May. The second terrorist has been identified as Adnan Shafi Dar, a resident of Wanduna Melhora, Shopian. Adnan was also associated with Lashkar on October 18 last year and was accused of killing a non -local laborer on the same day. Both of them were being searched for a long time. The campaign against the terrorists has been intensified after the attack on tourists in Pahalgam. Posters of terrorists have also been put up in many areas of Shopian, who were involved in the Pahalgam attack.
The security forces have appealed to the general public to inform the security agencies immediately if anyone knows about the presence of terrorists. Instead, a reward of up to Rs 20 lakh has been announced to the informer.
