Desk: An Airbus A400M Atlas aircraft of the Royal Air Force of United Kingdom (Royal Air Force) has been landed on Sunday (July 6) on Thiruvananthapuram Airport, Kerala. The aircraft has a team of 24 people from the United Kingdom, which will examine the British F-35B fighter jet at the Emergency Landing at the Thiruvananthapuram Airport in India last month, the F-35B Fighter Jet of the Royal Air Force is grounded for the last three.
The team of 24 people from Britain consists of 14 technical experts and 10 crew members of the British Royal Air Force. This team will examine the grounded fighter jet, so that it can be decided whether it can be repaired locally or will have to be dismantled and sent back to the UK. According to the report, Airbus A400M Atlas Aircraft reached Thiruvananthapuram from Britain will fly for return at around 3:30 pm Indian time. However, the team of British experts from the aircraft will stay in Kerala for checking and repairing the F-35B fighter jet.
The team of Royal Air Force actors from Britain to reach India indicates that the UK has so far not planned to airlify the ground F-35B fighter jet from India. However, the British Air Force’s A400 aircraft is larger than Hercules in size, but C-17 is smaller than Globmaster. In such a situation, if the F-35B is also given a deaneable, then the A400 aircraft is not able to carry it.
If Britain has to be airlifted by airlifting this fighter jet through an aircraft, then it will have to be sent to the C-17 aircraft in India. Meanwhile, experts from UK can try to repair the hydraulic system of F-35B fighter jet and will also try to take back this fighter jet.
Meanwhile, the British High Commission issued an official statement on Sunday (July 6, 2025) by the British High Commission. The spokesperson said, “An UK engineering team has been deployed at Thiruvananthapuram International Airport, which can check and repair the F-35B fighter jet, which makes the Emergency landing of the UK.”
