Prayagraj News , In the case of the death of a woman during Mahakumbh in Prayagraj, her husband has filed a petition in the Allahabad High Court demanding compensation. This petition has been filed by Uday Pratap Singh, a resident of Karaoda village in Kaimur district of Bihar. While hearing this, the court has ordered to send notice to Prayagraj Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Motilal Nehru Medical College, Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital, TV Sapru Hospital, Colin Hospital, District Women’s Hospital, Allahabad Medical Association and Nursing Home Association. The court has made all these parties in this case.
What has the court ask for?
The court has said that till the end of Mahakumbh from 28 January 2025, a complete record of patients and dead should be presented in all hospitals. It should also be told that when and when the person was declared dead, what was his identity and which doctor was treated.
Apart from this, the court has also sought information from the district administration that so many people have demanded compensation so far, how many have received compensation and how many are yet to be received. The court has directed to consider the petition of the petitioner as per the rules. Now the next hearing of this case will be held on 18 July 2025.
What is the whole matter?
Uday Pratap Singh’s wife along with her son came to the Mahakumbh in Prayagraj on 29 January. The same day she went missing at the fair. Later on 5 February, his body was handed over to his son from the mortuary of Motilal Nehru Medical College. The post mortem report was not given at that time.
Later, the body was taken to Bihar and a post -mortem was conducted, stating that the ribs of the woman were broken by pressing, which could be the cause of death. On this basis, the husband has demanded compensation under the compensation policy of the government.
