Aligarh news: In view of the problems of waterlogging in many areas of the metropolis along with the sound of monsoon, Municipal Commissioner Prem Prakash Meena, who returned to Aligarh late night, has taken immediate action and instructed the subordinates to ensure drainage by being present in the field. In view of the possibility of heavy rains, he has also banned the subordinates leaving the headquarters.

In view of possible heavy rains in the next 24 hours, the Municipal Commissioner has issued a detailed advisory for the subordinates, alerting Aligarh Smart City Limited and Municipal Corporation Aligarh. It has been instructed to close the pits dug at the places under construction and unite them. Along with this, instructions have also been given to install barricades, safety barriers and sign boards near the under construction sites of CM Grid as well as to install security related boards to make the public aware.

Ban on going out of headquarters and control room active:

The Municipal Commissioner has given strict instructions to all the municipal officials, SFI (Sanitary Inspector), cluster in-charge, and strict instructions to stay in their respective wards and circles, keeping mobile numbers active and not going out of the headquarters without permission. The control room of the Municipal Corporation (number: 05712750250, 750041344) has also been ordered to keep active continuously for the next 72 hours, so that quick action can be taken in emergency.

Relief Camp and Security Management:

According to the information received, the Municipal Commissioner has directed to convert Gandhi Park Shelter Home of the Municipal Corporation into relief camp, so that people affected in waterlogging or other emergency situations can take shelter there. In addition, dilapidated and Girasu Bhavan owners have been advised to shift to another safe place through notice. Advisory has also been issued to keep the sand required to deal with the situation of drain harvesting and the stuff of Badarpur.

Additional Municipal Commissioner investigated sewer pumping stations:

On the instructions of the Municipal Commissioner, the Additional Municipal Commissioner inspected waterlogged sites and pumping stations. He reviewed Ramghat Road, Kishanpur, Sudamapuri, Gurudwara Road, Gular Road, Chharra Adda Pumping Station, Shahjmal Pumping Station, Maris Road and Sarai Rahman Pumping Station. During the inspection, all the pumping stations of the municipal corporation were found running at full capacity. In the Chharra Adda, Sarai Rahman and Shahjmal, pumps were found running from the generator even when the power supply was disrupted. The Additional Municipal Commissioner asked the pump operators present on the spot to run all the pump sets regularly from the generator. He said that in view of waterlogging and problems of people in many areas, Gandhi Park Shelter Home has been converted into relief camp, where people can rest. The subordinates are instructed to monitor all sewer pumping stations and run the pump set with full capacity.
