Gopalganj: During the Muharram Tazia processions of Muharram on Sunday between Chhawhi Taki and Sikmi village of Manjha police station area of Gopalganj district of Bihar (Gopalganj District of Bihar), there was violent clashes and stone pelting in two sides. More than half a dozen people have been injured in this incident, who have been admitted to Sadar Hospital for treatment.
The incident took place near the railway dhala when the Tajiya procession of Chhawahi Taki village and Sikmi village was to be matched. According to eyewitnesses, there was an argument between the two sides about something during the procession, which turned into a violent conflict. It is alleged that the people of Sikmi village attacked the Tajiyadars of Chhavahi Taki with stones kept near the railway dhala. Many people including Mohammad Parvez, Mohammad Sattar, Laddu, Afzal, Jaboon Nisha and Monu Ali were seriously injured in the attack.
As soon as the incident was reported, the police of several police stations led by Sadar SDPO 2 Rajesh Kumar reached the spot and controlled the situation. Police force has been deployed in the entire area and police camp is being done in the village so that no tension is spread again.
SDPO Rajesh Kumar said, ‘During the procession of Muharram, there has been a fight between the people of Chhawahi Taki and Sikmi villages. The police has received a written application and the investigation of the case has been started. Strict legal action will be taken against the culprits. At present, the situation in the area is normal and the police is monitoring.
At present, the police has started investigating the entire case and the process of registering an FIR is going on on the basis of the statement of the injured. The local people have been appealed to maintain peace.
