Gaganyaan mission: The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has achieved another major success towards the Gaganyaan Mission. ISRO has announced that it has successfully completed the development of Service Module Propulsion System – SMPS for Gaganyaan. This system will be useful in important tasks such as installing the spacecraft in the Earth’s orbit, maintaining its control, de-boosting and preventing missions in emergency situations. It was tested at the ISRO Propulsion Complex (IPRC) at Mahendragiri, Tamil Nadu, where it was found successful on all technical and safety standards. This achievement strengthens the preparation of India’s first human space mission and is also a proof of ISRO’s technical ability and self -sufficiency.

The: Gaganyaan Mission – Preparation for India’s first human flight

Gaganyaan is the first human space mission in India, which is planned to be launched by the year 2025. The purpose of this mission is to send Indian astronauts to the lower earth orbit of the Earth and bring back safely. There are many technical parts of this ambitious mission, the most important service module is the propulsion system (SMPS).

According to ISRO, SMPS is a system that runs with two types of fuel. This system helps in transporting the spacecraft to the right orbit, maintaining direction during flight, reducing speed before returning and preventing mission if there is any danger at the time of flight. In this, the engine named Liquid Epozi Motor (LAM) works to emphasize, while the reaction control system (RCS) properly controls the direction of the small engine vehicle.

Propulsion System test – How did it succeed?

ISRO reported that a special model was designed for the test called System Demonstation Model (SDM). This model acts like SMPS. It had fuel tanks, helium gas -making systems, small engines used in flight and control parts.

25 separate tests were conducted on this SDM, including both normal and emergency conditions. In total, these tests were conducted for 14,331 seconds to test the credibility of the system in every possible scenario of the mission.

ISRO also reported that the entire system has been designed, developed and manufactured by its liquid propulsion system Center (LPSC). All its tests were successfully conducted at ISRO Propulsion Complex, Mahendragiri.

Why is this achievement special?

The biggest priority of ISRO is that the Gaganyaan mission is completely safe. For this reason, SMPS was tested, so that it could be known that even if this system comes to a mess or difficult situations, it can still work properly. This test was successful, which helped to secure the mission. This also proves that now India can rely on its technology and is making necessary things on its own.

This step of ISRO is a concrete achievement towards the Gaganyaan mission and this makes it clear that India is now fully capable of preparing human space flight.

conclusion

This technological success of Gaganyaan Mission adds another glorious chapter to India’s space history. This test of ISRO is a symbol of scientific progress and self -reliance of the country. In the coming time, when Indian astronauts reach the space with the help of this technology, this achievement will be remembered as a strong foundation.
