Bareilly news: Bareilly: Even though the state government is connecting poor women with functioning, self-help groups (SHGs) are being conducted in rural areas for their economic upliftment, but at some places the women members involved in the group have started turning away from operations due to the indifference of the responsibilities and the misdeeds of the responsible women involved in the group. One such case reached the Additional District Magistrate Purnima Singh in Mirganj Sampoorna Samadhan Divas. The women of the Prachi Group of village Thiriya Khurd of Mirganj development block reached before them and submitted their complaints and submitted the complaint and requested the closure of the group.
The women of Prachi Self Help Group, Sitakali, Nagina, Bhagwan Dei, Lakshmi, Veeravati, Vimlesh, Geeta, who reached the ADM administration Purnima Singh during the entire Samadhan Divas said that Sita Kali, the member of the group, had gone to the bank branch on 18 July 2025 to withdraw ₹ 6,000 from the group’s account. As soon as he took out the rupee from the account, at the same time the group’s president Geeta Rani snatched the money in the bank itself.
Women say that Prachi Group has been operated for the last three years, but has not yet received any financial assistance. Women allege that whatever government support group is received, only three women of the group grabbed it, and they are being financially exploited. Women have expressed their inability to operate Prachi Self -Help Group and demanded the closure of the group. ADM E has directed the Block Development Officer to solve the problem in this matter.
This incident shows that even though the state government is bringing new schemes to provide employment to women, corruption is being seen somewhere in every scheme. It remains to be seen what action the officers take on the complaint of the group of the group and whether these women get justice.
