Meerut News: A very embarrassing incident has come to light at the Kavad Seva Camp located on Sardhana Gangnahar Bridge in Meerut during the Kavad Yatra of Shravan month. It is alleged that two PAC soldiers and a soldier on duty with the women who came to see the Kanwar in the service camp molested and made a video while indecency. On protesting, these policemen argued with the women, which made the atmosphere tense.
The local servants caught the three policemen accused and handed over to the police post immediately. But, here the outpost in-charge was accused that he drove the accused “from the spot”, which provoked the anger of the people serving the camp. Angry people started dharna in the outpost premises and demanded suspension of the three policemen. Tehsildar and CO, who reached the spot, pacified the people by assuring investigation and action.
Regarding the case, Lalit Gurjar, a resident of Mohalla Gujran Gate and Camp Convenor Lalit Gurjar said that the soldiers of the police station Manoj and PAC jawans Amandeep and Mohit were harassing the women for the last two days. He said that by taking advantage of the crowd on Saturday night, the three molested the women and started making videos of them.
On this whole incident, the statement of Superintendent of Police Rakesh Kumar Mishra came on Sunday morning. He said that on the basis of the complaint, CCTV cameras installed in the camp were investigated, in which no “suspicious activity” of policemen has been revealed. Nevertheless, the root cause of the dispute is under investigation.
