Families caught during the day, encounter at night
Let us tell you that on Sunday afternoon, Krishna Nagar police arrested three accomplices of Suraj Soni. During interrogation, he revealed that they all used to plot stolen together. Apache bike and lock breaking equipment were also recovered from them. Suraj Soni’s name came up during interrogation. By evening, the police got his location and the team reached to catch him, when the encounter took place.
Reiki theft of closed houses used to carry out theft
The arrested miscreants said that they are residents of Lucknow, Sitapur and Rae Bareli and live in the city with houses on rent. This gang would roam in colonies throughout the day and identify closed houses and broke the locks at night and enter inside. Used to run away from home with cash, jewelry and valuables. After the theft, we used to distribute the looted property equally.
Failed in theft, but did not accept defeat
The captured miscreants revealed that 8–10 days ago he had attempted theft in a closed house in Vishnulok Colony. But all escaped when the door broke and the people of the locality woke up. The same night he targeted another closed house in Pratapnagar Colony. According to the police, the gang has carried out several incidents in the surrounding districts besides Lucknow.
Investigation started from Shubham Sharma’s house
Shubham Sharma, who lives near City Public School in Krishna Nagar, went to Hamirpur on 28 June along with the family. On July 12, the neighbor called and told that the lock of the house was broken. On returning home, it was seen that the cupboard was broken and all the stuff was scattered. Police was informed and four teams were formed in view of increasing theft incidents in the area. These teams took action to capture the first three and then Suraj Soni.
Police investigating the case and searching for other associates
The injured Suraj Soni is undergoing treatment in the hospital. The police is looking for his other associates. DCP Nipun Aggarwal said that the files of the incidents that the gang have carried out are being investigated. Soon other cases are expected to reveal.
