According to the information, the fire was controlled after several hours of hard work. According to Iran’s media, at least one employee has died and many others have been injured in the accident. According to reports, the fire has not obstructed the operation of the refinery.
Iran’s deputy parliamentary speaker Ali Nikzad said that many employees were also injured due to a fire in the oil refinery. He said that there was a fire in a unit of the oil refinery, so the loss has not happened much. However, the unit is burnt down. Abadan oil refinery is the largest and oldest oil refinery in Iran.
How important is this oil refinery for Iran
Abadan oil refinery is about 670 km from the capital Tehran. It started in 1912. This largest refinery of the Islamic Republic refines around 52 lakh barrels of oil every day, which is 25 per cent of the country’s total oil production.
In the last one week, many residential and business buildings have caught fire in Iran. The administration says that these incidents are happening due to gas leaks and short circuits.
