Harivansh Singh Met President after Dhankhar Resignation Get Bigger Responsibility

New Delhi. On Monday, on the first day of the monsoon session, Jagdeep Dhankhar gave the resignation post of Vice President from the post of Vice President. This led to a big topic of discussion from politics from corridors to common men. Since then, a round of speculation on the names of the new Vice President started. In the discussion, the name of Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh Narayan Singh was considered to be at the forefront. In the midst of this discussion, on the second day i.e. Tuesday, Harivansh Singh met President Draupadi Murmu. This made the speculation air.

In 1990, the then Prime Minister Chandrashekhar proposed Harivansh to join the PMO. He then joined the PMO as Additional Information Advisor (Joint Secretary). As soon as Chandrashekhar left the post of Prime Minister, Harivansh resigned and then returned to journalism. After this, in April 2014, Janata Dal (U) elected him a Rajya Sabha member from Bihar. After this, on 9 August 2018, he was first elected for the post of Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha. In September 2020, he was elected for the second time for the post of Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha.

Harivansh did a diploma in journalism from BHU. Harivansh started active journalism as a trainee journalist in the Times of India Group. He then lived as a sub-editor in the Hindi magazine Dharmayuga from 1977–1981. Here he got the connection of a journalist like Dharamvir Bharti to Ganesh minister. After this, Harivansh Anand became an assistant editor in the Hindi magazine ‘Sunday’ of the Bazaar Patrika Group. Here he reported grassroots in many areas of the country, including Bihar, Jharkhand (then part of undivided Bihar). After this, Prabhat Khabar became an important stop in Harivansh’s journalism career. Became Editor -in -Chief in Ranchi in 1989. He then worked in institutions like Navbharat Times, Dainik Bhaskar, Fastpost, Sunday (English).

Harivansh was born on 30 June 1956 in Sitabadiyara village of Ballia, UP. Politician Jayaprakash Narayan was also born in this village. Harivansh’s father Banke Bihari Singh was the head of the village. His discipline has had a great impact on the life of Harivansh. After 12th studies, Harivansh studied BHU from graduation and postgraduate in economics.

Harivansh Singh received Acharya Mahavir Prasad Dwivedi Journalism Award in Kolkata in 1996. The first Madhav Rao Sapre Award was awarded in Bhopal in 2008 for specific contribution in the field of journalism. Harivansh was honored for his outstanding contribution to Hindi during the ninth World Hindi Conference held in Johannesburg (South Africa) in 2012.

Harivansh Narayan Singh wrote his first book Mary Jail Diary: Part one and two in 2002. Apart from this, he wrote and edited many books. In 2019, Harivansh wrote his last book ‘Chandrashekhar: The Last Icon of Ideological Politics’.
