Mathura News: On the occasion of Holy Hariyali Teej, the 521st Festival of Adi Acharya Swami Biharin Dev Ju Maharaj of the Haridasiya sect was celebrated with great reverence and grandeur at the Lalit Kunj Ashram of Panchkosi Parikrama Marg in Vrindavan. The program was chaired by the present Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Swami Radha Prasad Dev Ju Maharaj of the Haridasi tradition.
Swami Radha Prasad Dev Ju Maharaj said that the day of Hariyali Teej holds special significance in the Haridasi tradition, because on this day Swami Bihariya Dev Ju Maharaj was revealed. He told that the responsibility of serving Thakur Shri Banke Bihari Lal was entrusted by Bihari Dev Ju Maharaj to Jagannath Saraswat, whose descendants are still discharging the same tradition.
The whole atmosphere became devotional
The festival started with the melodious presentations of society singing and Malhar, which led to the whole atmosphere devotional. The traditional songs of Sawan drenched the devotees into devotion. Special makeup and bhog were offered before Thakur ji. Besides, prasad and food were distributed to the needy under Nar-Narayan Seva.
A large number of devotees including Mahant Mohini Bihari Sharan Maharaj, Vishnu Bawra, Balram Baba, Sumit, Mukesh, Rahul, Honey, Bablu, Rasbihari, Yogesh and Suresh Chandra were present on the occasion.
The event was not only a celebration of religious faith, but also brought the spiritual tradition and cultural heritage of Vrindavan strongly.
