Secunderabad: Illegal surrogacy and Sperm smuggling fertility center have been busted in Hyderabad’s Secunderabad. The police have arrested a total of 10 people, including Dr. Namrata, the manager of Universal Srishti Fertility Center, in this case. It consists of two technical staff and 7 others. All these people are accused of illegal surrogacy and sperm smuggling. According to the police, this fertility center of Namrata was present in the Regimental market of Secunderabad.
The case came to light when a couple from Rajasthan lodged a police complaint. This couple lives in Secunderabad. He said in the complaint that it has been found in DNA that the child born through surrogate organized through the center was not his relative.
He said that three years ago, the clinic had paid 30 lakh rupees for the surrogacy process. When the child was born this year, he asked the clinic to check the DNA of the surrogate mother. On this, Dr. Namrata allegedly delayed repeated testing. When there was a possibility of disturbances in the case, the couple got DNA investigated in Delhi, in which it was found that the child had no genetic relations with him.
After this, the couple in June, the couple talked to Dr. Namrata about DNA results. It should be told that he accepted the matter of ‘disturbance’ and asked for time to resolve the matter. However, she soon disappeared, after which the couple lodged a complaint at Gopalpuram police station.
On receiving the complaint, the police took action and raided the fertility center late at night. During this time he recovered several important documents and preserved sperm samples for forensic examination. During interrogation, it was found that the clinic used to do illegal trade of sperm and egg in other states including Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. Police found that the fertility center was running in collaboration with a firm called Indian Sperm Tech, which was working without official approval.
Taking action in the case, the police have arrested Pankaj Soni, the regional manager of the firm. Along with this, six other people including Sampat, Srinu, Jitendra, Shiva, Manikantha and Boro have also been arrested by the police. Allegedly, these people were involved in supply and shipping of breeding materials in various states. The police suspect that this network may include more breeding centers and agents. Those arrested are being questioned.
