Lucknow News: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday took a historic decision for 10,000 families displaced from East Pakistan, waiting for the land of his right for 60 years. Chief Minister Yogi has given strict instructions to departmental officers to give them valid ownership of land. Let us tell you that these families settled in Pilibhit, Lakhimpur Kheri, Bijnor and Rampur took refuge in India at the time of partition and were deprived of legal rights for years.

Let us tell you that between 1960 and 1975, 10 thousand families from East Pakistan, which are currently seen as Bangladesh, have been settled in 4 districts of Uttar Pradesh. Initially, they were settled in villages through transit camps and land for farming was also given but due to documentary flaws, most families could not get ownership due to reasons like registering land in the name of Forest Department.
Many villages dumped but did not record the name in government records
Let us tell you that these families have built their permanent houses by farming for years, despite their names are not in their government records even today. Some places have also been illegally occupied, while some villages do not even have existence of such families who were ever settled. Due to this, there is a situation of dispute and uncertainty about the land. Chief Minister Yogi held a meeting on Monday and told the officials that the land allotment under the Government Grant Act should now be accommodated in the new legal structure. Along with this, he directed that the way should be taken out after considering legal aspects as this law has ended in 2018.
CM Yogi gave the message- ‘This is not just land, honor’
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that it is not just a matter of land but is an opportunity to honor the struggle and sacrifice of those who started life here from across the borders of the country. The Chief Minister said that this decision is a symbol of social justice, humanity and national duty. Instructions have been given to the concerned District Magistrates that land ownership certificates should be handed over to the displaced families after taking action in a timely manner.
