Lakhimpur kheri: Ajan, Kheri: A readymade cloth shop was set on fire by unknown people in the local town of Ajan Chowki area of Hyderabad police station at around 9 pm. In this incident, the shop owner Vishal Verma has suffered a huge loss of about Rs 2 lakh. After this incident, the outpost in -charge who arrived at the scene was accused of investigating by drinking alcohol, which created a ruckus by blocking the road.

According to the information, Vishal Verma, a resident of village Kuiyadih, has a readymade clothes shop in Ajan town. As usual, Vishal closed his shop and went home. Meanwhile, some unknown persons put pipes in the shutter of the shop and set fire.

All clothes kept in the shop burnt to ashes

Seeing the shop on fire, people passing through the road immediately informed the shop Swami Vishal on the phone. Vishal immediately reached Ajan on his bike and opened his shop. The fire was controlled by pouring water with the help of market shopkeepers and local people. However, by then, all the clothes kept in the shopkeeper’s counter and shop were burnt to ashes.

The victim Vishal called Ajan outpost and informed about the incident, after which Ashok Singh, in-charge of Ajan Chowki reached the spot. While inspecting the site of the incident, the people present there accused the outpost in -charge of drinking alcohol. People were enraged by this charge and they started making a ruckus by jamming the road. On receiving the information, Hyderabad police station in -charge Sunil Malik reached the spot with his team and handled the situation.

The station in -charge assured that strict action will be taken against those who are about to set fire, after which the matter was resolved. The victim shopkeeper has written a written tahrir to the Ajan Chowki police and demanded action, but no case has been filed against unknown people who have set fire till the news is written.

Shop shutter lock was broken

It is worth mentioning that earlier, there was a major theft incident in the same shop on the night of 3 July, in which the thieves broke the shutter lock of the shop and stole readymade clothes of 90 thousand rupees and 5 thousand rupees in cash. The incident took place just 100 meters from Ajan Chowki, which also raises questions on police patrolling.
