Amethi News: Villagers of Revenue Village Gungmau under Pargana Jagdishpur of the district have made serious allegations on the functioning of the Consolidation Department. The villagers met the district officer and handed over a complaint letter, in which the consolidation officers have been accused of irregularities and demanding bribes. The villagers allege that under the consolidation process, the garden located in some accounts of the village has been fakeed and allotted to others. This garden has about 100 years old 6 Mahua, 1 neem and 2 chilbil trees. The applicants also say that no details of the respective land have been shown in their size letter number 5 and size letter number 23.
The complaint letter states that Gata number 447 and 508 of account number 126 and Gata number of account number 128 are of 509 and 510 grams of Gungmau, which is very important to be “chuck out”. If this is not done, the tenants may suffer immense damage. Devendra Singh alleged that the consolidation officials had sought a bribe of Rs 1 lakh. When they refused to pay the money, they were threatened with harassment. He said that despite the rounds of the officials many times, no solution has been taken place yet. The villagers have demanded from the district administration that strict action should be taken against the culprits by conducting a fair investigation into the matter.
