New Delhi. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has formed a special team in view of the events of natural disasters like Himachal Pradesh (Himachal Pradesh). It is a multi-regional central team. Amit Shah has discussed the situation with the officials about cloudburst, sudden floods, landslides and torrential rains in the state. Officials told the Home Minister that this time Himachal Pradesh has suffered heavy damage due to natural disaster.
Home Minister Amit Shah has ordered Himachal Pradesh to immediately constitute a multi-regional central team of experts from the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), Central Building Research Institute, Indian Institute of Building Research (IITM) and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Indore. Amit Shah said that it will assess the loss of the state. It will also prepare a report on disasters. The process of resettling the areas that have been damaged will be started.
It has been told in the meeting that the team will be sent to different parts of Himachal Pradesh. This round has started. The team is going to parts of the entire state where there has been heavy loss. Reports are being prepared everywhere. It is being told that a hefty amount will be spent in resettling all these areas. The team’s tour will be completed by 21 July. After this, this report will be submitted to the Union Minister.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has released the first relief installment for Himachal Pradesh. Himachal Pradesh has already been approved to Rs 2006.40 crore to compensate for the loss due to disasters of 2023. Out of this, the first installment of Rs 451.44 crore has been released on 7 July 2025. Also, the first installment of the central part of Rs 198.80 crore from the State Disaster Relief Fund (SDRF) has also been given to Himachal on 18 June 2025.
