Police Trainees Protest in Gorakhpur: In Uttar Pradesh, the slogans of ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ are found written at every turn, but when it comes to giving respectable training to daughters, the reality of the administration is embarrassed. On Wednesday morning, the PAC administrative building in Gorakhpur of the state came under the scanner when hundreds of women trainees took to the road and protested fiercely due to lack of basic facilities. These are the same women who are being prepared for the security and law and order of the state, but who do not have drinking water, toilets, and bathing for themselves.
600 trainees, place for only 300, ‘management class’ of administration fails
The trainees said that where there is a system of living of only 300 people, 600 female trainees have been forcibly kept. The crowd is so high that there is no place to sleep, nor the bathroom number comes. The number of bathrooms is so low that a long line is installed as soon as it wakes up in the morning. For bathing, one has to take a bath in a hall, avoiding the crowd under a few tricks. The most surprising thing is that there is a camera in that hall, which has raised serious questions on the privacy and security of the trainees.
Training suffering from thirst, spend 500 ml of water day
Trainees say that there is so much water shortage that every girl is getting only 500 mL of water, that too for the whole day. Similarly, the future protector of the police force is being prepared? Many trainees are on the verge of dehydration. On Wednesday, a female trainee fell unconscious, who was taken by an ambulance to the hospital. Food is neither getting on time, nor in sufficient quantity.
Bathing in the open and administration silence
Many trainees are in such a condition that bathing has to be done in the open. When protested, abuses and abuses are given in response. To tolerate on behalf of some officials, only the curvy advice is being received. The question is, is it not the minimum responsibility of any training center to ensure basic facilities of human rights like living, eating and defecation?
When raised the voice, it was said to be undisciplined
When the women tried to awaken the administration by taking to the streets, the authorities called them undisciplined. Is there a rebellion to ask for basic facility now? When there is a capacity of 300, why was 600 stopped? Is it not against humanity to give 500 mL of water to a trainee? What is this preparation for the government that talks about women safety? Has training training now to endure?
This is not just opposition, there is a scream against the system, which is training the showing, but the chaos is serving in the name of the system. Will the police force where these women will be posted tomorrow, will they be able to forget this chaos? If the government and the department are blind, then this matter may soon turn into national shame.
