Azamgarh News: In Azamgarh district, the activists of the Vishwa Hindu Mahasangh Gauraksha Cell submitted a memorandum to the District Magistrate seeking a ban on Gaukashi in view of the upcoming Bakrid festival. Demand was made by reaching the District Magistrate’s Office under the leadership of District President Manish Tiwari. The organization urged the administration that illegal purchase and sale of cow and buffalo should be banned at least a week before Bakrid.
Manish Tiwari said that there is a lot of negligence in the rural and urban areas of Azamgarh division regarding cow protection. The administration needs to take strict steps in view of the possibility of cutting cows in the name of sacrifice. Three accused arrested by taking possession of 18 buffalo during checking
The police station Atraulia of Azamgarh district took a major action against animal cruelty for the purpose of completing the Bakrid festival and stopped a DCM vehicle near Keshavpur bridge on June 03.
During the checking, 18 buffaloes and falls were found in the vehicle, whose legs and mouths were tied brutally to the rope. Police arrested the vehicles and animals and arrested three accused – Rakesh Yadav (45), Tajuddin (50), and Tinku Ahmed (40).
The case has been registered under Section 11 of the Animal Cruelty Prevention Act. Out of the arrested accused, Rakesh Yadav has already had a criminal record, which has cases registered in Unnao in 2009 and Agra in Agra in animal cruelty and other sections. The case number 187/25 has been registered in Thana Atraulia, which is being investigated by Sub -Inspector Ramesh Singh. The seizures include DCM vehicles, 2 buffaloes, and 16 Padia. The police is engaged in a thorough investigation into the case.
