Azamgarh News: Legal awareness and literacy camp was organized at the Tehsil Legal Services Committee-Sadar of Azamgarh district on Friday, July 18, in the sequence of guidelines of Uttar Pradesh State Legal Services Authority, Lucknow. The main objective of this program was to make the people present in the camp aware of their legal rights and available legal aid services.
Addressing the camp, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Mr. Ankit Verma said that if a person has a legal problem and is not being resolved, then such a person can present and submit an application in the District Legal Services Authority, Azamgarh, which is resolved by the concerned authority.
The Secretary also informed that if a captive is poor and helpless and is detained in the prison even after bail by the court, then such a person is provided free legal aid by the Legal Aid Defense Council. This facility is for those who cannot bear legal expenses. Shri Dhruv Chandra Tripathi, District Probation Officer, Azamgarh, present in the program, provided information about various welfare schemes being run as per the government.
Mr. Ashish Kumar Rai, Chief Legal Ed Defense Council, said that from 01 July 2025 to 30 September 2025, a campaign of “mediation for the nation” program is being carried out. Under this, the parties can attend the reconciliation center and dispose of their pending suit with mutual consent. This is an effective way to settle disputes out of court in a cordial manner.
Mr. Sandeep Kumar Yadav gave information about the Internal Complaint Committee, which told that internal complaint committee has been formed at every place where more than 10 or 10 women employees are employed. Under this, if a female employee is facing any problem, then she can lodge her complaint in the Internal Complaint Committee, which is expedited. Yadav Sandeep Kumar also made aware of the Nalasa Helpline No.0-5100 and said that if a person needs legal assistance, he can get legal information by calling this helpline number.
