Bareilly news: A intensive checking campaign is being conducted by the electricity department in Bareilly district of Uttar Pradesh. Checking by the team of power department has caused a stir in the district. Electricity department officials say that there is a stolen electricity in checking, action is being taken against the meter.
According to the information, the Electricity Department on Monday took major action in various areas of Bareilly district to stop Mirganj power theft and bill outstanding cases. On the instructions of Chief Engineer Distribution Bareilly area I was conducted in Mirganj, Faridpur, Shishgarh and Amla areas, morning red and combing operations were conducted.
A total of 697 consumers’ connections were investigated during this period
According to official information, in this special campaign, the power load of 34 consumers was extended to exceed the approved limit, while an FIR was lodged against 97 consumers on charges of power theft. In addition, connections of 219 consumers were disconnected due to non -payment of arrears of electricity bills. During the checking campaign, the department also recovered revenue collection of Rs 6.89 lakh. Action was also taken in Bareli city, where an FIR has been registered against 15 consumers in the case of power theft.
The campaign was conducted under the leadership of Executive Engineers in Rampur Road, Shahjahanpur Road, Bahedi and Amla segments. This action was taken by marking high line losses and hotspot areas in the respective areas. Public department officials said that this campaign would continue regularly and strict steps will be taken against those who steal electricity.
