Patna. A leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party has been killed in Patna District of Bihar. The incident took place on Saturday night in Sheikhpura village located in Pipra police station area of Punpun block. The deceased has been identified as 52 -year -old Surendra Kevat. He was the President of BJP Kisan Morcha, Punpun. Two bike riding miscreants roasted him with bullets. Criminals shot one after the other, four bullets. After the incident, the family took him to Patna AIIMS in critical condition. The BJP leader died during treatment there.
Two bike riders carried out the incident. Station Head RK Pal said that at the moment the family is not saying anything about the accused. Further action will be taken by registering a case after a complaint written by the family. The police has started investigating the case by sending the body for postmortem.
BJP leader Kewat was veterinarian and farmer
Vishnudev Kewat’s son Surendra Kewat lived in Sheikhpura village with the family. Along with being a Punpun block BJP leader, he was a rural veterinarian and also used to do farming. Despite not being in office, he was politically very active in the region.
It is being told that his farm was being patted on Saturday. BJP leader Surendra Kewat had gone out of the village on the village on Saturday night after having dinner from the house to close the motor on the cabin in his farm located on the banks of Bihta-Sarmera State Highway-78. As soon as he was riding on his bike to come home, two miscreants from a motorcycle reached there. He fired indiscriminately. After hitting 4 bullets to Surendra Kewat, the criminal escaped towards Punpun.
Murder in mutual rivalry or political enmity?
After hearing the sound of firing, when the locals reached the spot, it was found that the BJP leader was in a wounded condition. Later the family took Balluhan Surendra Kewat to AIIMS. The doctors there declared him dead. On the other hand, after the information of the incident, the Pipra police reached the spot and started investigating the case. There is a possibility of killing Surendra Kewat in mutual rivalry or political enmity.
Police is taking help of technical surveillance including searches of CCTV footage on the way to identify the criminals. The police officer said that the accused will be arrested after identification.
