Baghpat News: Sensation spread in Sirsali village of Binauli police station area of Baghpat district on Monday evening when unknown assailants fired indiscriminately at village head Dharmendra alias Dharma. The incident took place when the village head was playing cards with some locals near the Tampu stand of the village. After the incident, there was a stir and people started running away.
It is being told that suddenly two unidentified miscreants riding on the bike reached there and started firing. The village head was hit by several bullets in the attack, which was seriously injured. At the same time, the villagers Vineet, sitting near him, also got a bullet, which also injured him. After the incident, both the injured were immediately taken to the local health center for treatment, from where they have been referred to Meerut in view of the serious condition of the village head. On receiving the information from the police, the situation was reviewed and the information related to the incident was collected.
Initial investigation has revealed that this firing may have been done due to old electoral rivalry. At present, the police have registered a case and started searching for unknown assailants. Baghpat SP Suraj Kumar Rai said that Tahrir will be obtained in the case and investigation will be done on the basis of the same. Police say that the accused will soon be identified and arrested. After this incident, there is an atmosphere of panic in the village and additional police force has been deployed.
