Up news: On Friday, the Anti Corruption Branch of CBI Lucknow conducted a raid at the Ordnance Factory in Kanpur. The team continued to check the factory documents till late night. In this action, army officers were also present with the CBI team. According to sources, the raid was conducted in this factory on Kalpi Road after complaints of economic disturbances. During the investigation, the officers kept away from the media and were seen avoiding giving any kind of information. This investigation is likely to continue on Saturday.
It is noteworthy that this factory manufactures cannon, shells and other materials for soldiers such as shoes etc. The CBI looks at any possible financial disturbance or corruption in the factory.
The factory was also in discussion in the month of March, when Junior Works Manager Vikas Kumar, working here, was arrested for spying for a Pakistani intelligence agency. He was accused of sending important military documents to the ISI agent. It was told that he came in contact with a female agent through Facebook and became a victim of Honey Trap.
