Chandauli News: The work of breaking leopard leaves in Naugarh, Majhgai, Jayamohani, Chandraprabha and Chakia forest areas under Kashi Wildlife Division has suddenly stopped. Due to bad weather, the sacking of leaves has to be closed prematurely, due to which the crisis of livelihood has arisen in front of the workers dependent on it.

The biggest irony is that even these working workers, who are facing the weather, have not got their previous wages. According to the rules, the opening five days of breaking the tendu leaf should have received cash after five days, but due to the negligence of the contractors, they have not received this amount yet. The section officer of the Forest Corporation gave strict instructions to the contractors to pay the workers to pay the workers, but despite this the contractors remained missing and the workers returned to their homes empty -handed while waiting in the scorching sun.

Labor-to-workers of contractors

Significantly, for the last several years, the purchase of Tendu leaves is being done through contractors. These contractors also have the responsibility of protecting the leaves from water and maintaining them properly. However, due to their alleged robbery policy, the workers who break Tendu leaves are always upset. This work, which runs till May-June, already ended due to bad weather, due to which external laborers also returned disappointed.

Delay in delivery, sword hanging on payment

The laborers have not only received the first five days wages, but the payment of the remaining amount is also hanging in the balance. According to the rules of the Forest Corporation, it is mandatory to ‘submit’ (submit ‘(submit) to the corporation in the evening to the Tendu Patti purchased in the evening. But surprisingly, the contractors have not yet completed this reward work. In such a situation, God is trusting the hard earned money of laborers. The biggest fear is that in the meantime, if the leaves get wet due to rain, the contractors can refuse to take them, which will completely stop the payment of laborers.

Forest Corporation wrote a letter, waiting for action

Taking cognizance of this serious matter, the section officer of Forest Corporation Atul Kumar Singh has written a letter to Divisional Logging Manager, Uttar Pradesh Forest Corporation, Mirzapur and informed about the situation. The letter mentions not to pay the first five days on the Majhgai and Naugarh section for the first five days and the closure of the pimples. This letter also indicates a similar problem in other forest areas, which is against the interests of the workers. The section officer has requested the manager to ensure payment at the earliest so that the workers engaged in Tendu leaf collection work do not face more trouble.
