Bhopal: The certificate issued under Ladli Laxmi Yojana in Madhya Pradesh has once again played an important role in preventing the practice of child marriage. Preparations for the wedding of a minor daughter were going on loudly, but due to the complaint of Ladli Laxmi Yojana and complaint of a vigilant citizen, this marriage was stopped in the time.
The daughter of a family of Jawa police station area was married to a 22 -year -old youth of Chandai village in Chakghat. The procession was to come on 27 May 2025. Almost all the rituals of marriage were completed. Guests were gathered in the house and the pandal was decorated. A conscious person gave a complaint to the Women and Child Development Department and Police Department, in which it was told that the girl who is being married is only 16 years and 5 months old.
The complaint was confirmed with the assurance certificate of Ladli Laxmi Yojana, in which the daughter’s date of birth was recorded on 5 December 2008. On this basis, the police and administration team reached the spot and stopped the marriage. The officials explained to the family members and gave a strict warning of not getting married before the statutory age of marriage.
Giving information about the case, SP Vivek Singh said that immediate action was taken as soon as the information of child marriage was received in Jawa police station area. The team reached the spot and examined the documents of the birth certificate and the Ladli Laxmi Yojana. The complaint was found correct. If the family was adamant on getting married, strict legal action would have been taken against them.
This matter has become a good example of the effectiveness and social awareness of government schemes. Let us know that under the Ladli Laxmi scheme of Madhya Pradesh government, daughters are given financial assistance of Rs 1.43 lakh from birth to 21 years.
A statement was issued by the state government that if the documents of government schemes are used correctly, then change can be brought in the society. This certificate of Ladli Laxmi Yojana has come out not just a paper, but a guarantee of women’s respect and security.
