Lucknow News: “Electricity is not just a matter of burning bulbs, it is a question of public trust” when Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said these words on Friday, the lines of tension were drawn on the face of the officers of the entire energy department. This time the case was not just about the transformer blowing or line trip. This time CM Yogi directly announced the ‘Zero tolerance Policy’ on the unnecessary power cuts in the state. His tone was strict and the warning in words was clearly visible, “Now if the electricity goes, then the responsible officers will also go.”
Electricity will not be cut, now the chair of officers will be cut
The demand for electricity in Uttar Pradesh in June crossed a record 31,486 MW. Despite this, the continuous complaints of power cuts have worried the government. On Friday afternoon, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held a special review meeting with top officials of the Department of Energy, in which he bluntly said “There is no shortage of money, neither electricity nor resources. Why is the power cut?” CM Yogi sought accountability from all discom companies and said that providing uninterrupted power supply to the public is the first priority of the government. Giving strict instructions to the officials, he said, “Electricity has now become a need for life, not only service. Negligence will not be tolerated in this.”
Tough stance on tripping, overbling and falls billing
The Chief Minister made it clear in the meeting that no laxity will run on cases like tripping, overbilling and falls billing. He ordered that every consumer gets the right bill on time, and if someone has a complaint, it should be resolved immediately. The Chief Minister summoned the ground report from the authorities to know the field reality of electricity supply and said that the reality of every field should be known, not only the picture made in the meeting room.
Order of smart metering and technical improvement
The Chief Minister also announced a large roadmap for power reform. He said that now the time has come to spread the smart meter to the block level, so that real time data can be found to control the correct billing and line loss. He directed that power generation should be increased rapidly with projects like Ghatampur, Khurja, Panki and Meja. These are expected to exceed the power capacity of Uttar Pradesh 16,000 MW.
Big preparation for farmers too
CM Yogi ordered the separation of agricultural feeders to be completed rapidly so that farmers can get special power supply. Also, the plan to connect all tubewells with solar energy was also approved. This will reduce the electricity bill of farmers and the energy system of the state will become more durable.
MLA also summoned, political message is also clear
Soon after this meeting, Chief Minister Yogi summoned the MLAs of Ayodhya Division to Lucknow. The MLAs of Ayodhya, Sultanpur, Ambedkarnagar, Amethi and Barabanki were called and asked for a field report of electricity system. It is clear that the Yogi government is now seeking answers not only from the administration, but also from its public representatives.
“No longer work for those who do not work”
At the end of the meeting, CM Yogi’s statement is the most echoed “Now improve the system, otherwise action is certain.” With this message, the Chief Minister made it clear that now there will be no deduction, accountability will run. There is no shortage of electricity in the state, but if the system does not improve, then only wires will not burn, chairs will also fly.
