Chandauli News: The Syedaraja police of the district have achieved a major success in the campaign against liquor smuggling. Police have recovered a huge amount of illegal English liquor and beer from a Scorpio during checking near Jethmalpur Tirahe on National Highway-02. A vicious smuggler has also been arrested in this action. The estimated price of recovered liquor and beer is being reported as 89 thousand rupees.
Action on informant information
According to the instructions of Superintendent of Police Chandauli, the police team led by Syedaraja police station in -charge Vindeshwar Prasad Pandey took this action under the efficient guidance of Additional Superintendent of Police Sadar and Jurisdictional Sadar. The police had received information from the informer that a consignment of illegal liquor was being taken to Bihar in a vehicle.
Liquor recovered from Scorpio
On the basis of information, the police team started checking vehicles at Jethmalpur Tirahe at around 11.10 pm on 09 July 2025. During the checking, a Scorpio vehicle number UP22 M8225 was stopped. On searching, 14 boxes of English liquor of the 8 PM Fruit brand were recovered from Scorpio, with a total of 672 pouches (each pouch 180 mL) i.e. 120.96 liters of liquor. Apart from this, beer of 3 boxes of Howards 5000 brands was also recovered, including a total of 72 cans (each can 500 mL) i.e. 36 liters of beer.
A smuggler arrested
Police arrested driver Kanchan Singh son Krishna Singh, age 35, resident village Sahasi, Thana Chenari, District Rohtas, Bihar from the spot. According to the police, Kanchan Singh is a vicious smuggler and has been involved in such cases before.
Preparations were to be sold in Bihar
During interrogation, the accused, arrested, said that he was carrying this liquor from different places and taking it to Bihar to sell it. Police have seized recovered liquor, beer, scorpio vehicle, a mobile phone and cash of Rs 6300.
Case registered under Excise Act
In this regard, the police station on Syedaraja 185/2025 Section 60/63 Necessary legal action has been initiated by registering a case under the Excise Act.

In this successful action, Syedaraja police station in -charge Inspector Vindeshwar Prasad Pandey, Sub Inspector Dinesh Kumar Singh, Constable Vishnu Prajapati, Shankar Ram, Brijesh Chauhan and Raju Singh were involved.
