Gonda news: A promotion and educational program was organized for drug addiction on the eve of International Drugs Day in the Excise Godown Complex located in Jhanjhari block of the district. The event was organized by folk songs Ragi Ragani Kala Manch, Shravasti, in which public awareness was spread about the ill effects of intoxication through folk songs. The youth and local people present in the program were explained in detail about the physical, mental and social disadvantages caused by drug abuse.
During the program, District Excise Officer Gonda administered the oath to the attendees to stay away from drugs. He emphasized the need for collective efforts against it, describing drug addiction as curse for society. The messages presented through folk songs effectively conveyed the message of drug addiction to the people. These songs not only spread awareness, but also motivated people against drugs.
Many dignitaries were present
Several dignitaries including District Prohibition Officer Alok Tiwari, Excise Inspector Vandana Kesarwani, Abhishek Mishra, Rashid Khan, Shivlal Maurya were present in the program. The officials appealed to every section of the society for cooperation for drug addiction. On this occasion, the youth pledged to play an active role against drugs. The event proved to be an important step in increasing awareness in society towards drug addiction. Local people demanded to organize such events regularly, so that the society could be freed from drug addiction.
