Varanasi News: Varanasi – Between 2002 and 2005, under the entire Rural Employment Scheme, the accused absconding in a case of corruption in the construction works done in Bansdih block of Ballia district has been arrested by the Economic Offenses Branch (EOW) team.
Accused of embezzlement of Rs 27 lakh in scam
The soil work done under government schemes, drainage, khadanja, contact route, CC and culvert construction were found to be ignored and incomplete work. It is alleged that block level officials and Kotdars prepared fake muster rolls with mutual connivance and embezzled food grains by showing fake workers. A total of Rs 27 lakh government funds were rigged.
One of the total 19 accused is arrested
A total of 19 people were found involved in this case. The arrested accused Suryam Singh, at that time, was posted as Gram Panchayat Officer in Bansdih block of Ballia district. He, along with other co-workers, prepared fake muster rolls and fake food grains.
Arrest in Varanasi
In this case involved in the priority of the Uttar Pradesh government, accused Suryam Singh son Late. Gangaram Singh, present resident Vishal Nagar (Upasana Nagar), Akhari, Police Station Rohania, Varanasi were arrested on Tuesday 22 July at 4:00 pm by the Crack team of EOW Varanasi sector near Akhari intersection.
Case filed under corruption act
MUS against the accused In 65 B/2006, action has been taken under sections 409, 419, 420, 467, 468, 471, 218, 201, 120B, 34 and Section 13 (2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act. The accused will be produced in the Prevention of Corruption Court, Varanasi.
Police team involved in arrest
The arrest team included Inspector Sunil Kumar Verma, Inspector Sahajanand Srivastava, Chief Constable Hemant Singh and Chief Reserve Vinod Yadav.
