Police also interrogated DSP
Just before the time of the incident, a retired DSP from Ludhiana also passed through the same route with his car. The police also questioned him on Monday. Another painful turn of Fauja Singh’s life
This was not the first accident in the life of this runner of the century. In 1992, when he was building a dhaba for his elder son Kuldeep Singh in the village Beas, Kuldeep died after a shuttering fell at the time of construction.
Even after that incident, Fauja Singh did not lose courage and made a ‘Kuldeep Vaishno Dhaba’ in memory of his son. Even today, he keeps going to the dhaba in his routine. Unfortunately, at around 3:15 pm on Monday afternoon, when Fauja Singh was crossing the road and going towards the same dhaba, a high speed white Fortuner hit him.
The life of this elderly runner who created history has gone through a more painful turn. Strict action and quick arrest of the police is expected that justice will be found soon. At present, there is concern about Fauja Singh’s health.
