Joka. The incident of rape of a young woman (Boys ‘Hostel of the reputed Indian Institute of Management-Calcuta at Joka, the southern outskirts of Kolkata (Boys’ Hostel, has come to light. After this incident, IIM Institute has been stirred up. IIM Calcutta says that the victim is not a student of the institute and she stayed in the hostel with her friend. According to police sources, the victim was called to the Boys Hostel for the Job Counseling Session, where the incident was carried out with her.
The victim’s student alleges that a student of Boys Hostel raped her on Friday. He lodged a complaint at Haridevpur police station late in the evening, after which the police is investigating the case. The accused in the incident has been arrested and investigation is on between increasing concerns about the safety of the campus. Alipur Police Court has sent the accused Parmanand Toppanwar, accused in the IIM Calcutta rape case, to police custody till 19 July.
It is being told that the incident took place at the Boys Hostel located in the IIM-Kalakatta campus. According to the news agency PTI, in her statement, the student alleged that she was called to the hostel for a job counseling session. There, he was served pizza and cold drinks when he drank the drink. Regarding the drink, she feels that the intoxicating substance was added to it, after which she fainted. When he came to his senses, he realized that he had been raped.
A police officer said that he further said that when he regained consciousness, the accused threatened and said that if he told anyone about the incident, he would have to face serious consequences. After this, the victim immediately approached her friend and lodged a complaint at Haridevpur police station. The accused student was detained on Friday night and was later formally arrested. The investigation of the case is currently under investigation.
