Gonda news: The matter of illegal occupation and construction work of government sealing land in village Andupur under Karnailganj tehsil of the district is becoming continuously serious. The village’s Gata number 722B, acreage 0.2020 hectare land, which is recorded in the sealing account, not only the wall was erected by the bullies, but now preparations are being made to put the roof.
The administration is still silent on this open construction. Under the Uttar Pradesh Zamindari Eradication and Land System Act 1950 and Section 154 of the Celebration Act 1960, this land can not be sold, nor can it be sold nor can be occupied by any private person. Despite this, construction work is going on by about half a dozen people including Rajesh Gupta alias Bodi.
Complaints, officers silent
The villagers had lodged an online complaint on the District Magistrate and IGRS portal on 14 June, but so far no concrete action has been taken by the administration.
Lekhpal Manbahadur Verma himself has confirmed the record of this land being recorded in the sealing account, and said that he is waiting for the orders of the high officials. But the villagers allege that some employees of the revenue department are giving silent support to the bullies.
Demonstration of villagers, raised demands
On Saturday, the villagers demonstrated in the village demanding:
• Construction on sealing land should be demolished immediately
• FIR should be lodged against the culprits
• This land should be allocated to the eligible underprivileged
• MNREGA work should be done by local laborers
• A fair investigation of the entire episode should be done
Villagers say that if time action is not taken, the matter will become an example of open disregard of law and murder of social justice. Administrative silence has increased the freshness of the bullies and the public’s trust in the law is weakening.
