Out of the Rs 105 lakh allocated by the Kshetra Panchayat for light work, only 84 lakh rupees are being spent on four gram panchayats Kuri, Katra Shahbazpur, Malauli and Dhanawa. The work of installing highmasts, street lights and solar lights in these villages is in progress, while other 67 gram panchayats have been excluded from the scheme.

Consideration of four villages

According to sources, highmasts are being installed at a cost of Rs 28.52 lakh near Bargadi intersection, post office, Sanskrit school and government tube well in Gram Panchayat Kuri. In this village, 30 solar lights from Rs 7.79 lakh are being installed. The secretariat and Pandeypurwa intersection in Katra Shahbazpur are being installed from Rs 14.26 lakh and 30 solar lights from Rs 7.79 lakh. At the same time, the secretariat in Dhanawa is placing highlight from Rs 7.13 lakh and 30 solar lights from 7.79 lakhs, while in Malauli, there are plans to 7.13 lakhs and 15 solar lights from Rs 7.13 lakh and Rs 3.89 lakh. In the light complex, there are plans to install two highmasts from Rs 14.26 lakh and Rs 7.01 lakh to 27 other lights.

Disappointment in 67 panchayats, questions raised

Rakesh Mohan Tiwari, state secretary of Rashtriya Panchayati Raj Gram Pradhan Sangathan and head of Kachnapur, has described it as an open bias in the name of development. He says that due to “Khadun Raj”, development work has been reduced to only certain villages. The villagers of 67 panchayats feel cheated.

In -charge BDO JN Rao said that the selection of the villages has been selected on the proposal of the area, but they could not give any clear answer if only four villages were elected. A joint meeting of Paraspur Vikas Manch and Merchant Sangharsh Morcha was held on Saturday regarding this serious problem, in which prominent social workers, traders and public representatives of the area attended.

It was unanimously decided in the meeting that if the power problem was not resolved within a week, hundreds of traders and social workers would be obliged to carry out agitation and protest. Along with this, a demand for high -level inquiry into alleged corruption and strict action against the culprits was raised in planting 33 KVA line wires. For permanent solution to the power problem of the area, a demand for installation of 400 KVA transformers was also strongly placed at Paraspur intersection.

In the meeting, the speakers expressed strong anger over the negligence of the electricity department and said that business, education and daily life are being severely affected due to the power crisis. Dr. Arun Kumar Singh, Vivek Tiwari, Vijay Chaurasia, Ghanshyam Gupta, Vasudev Singh Chairman, Siddhant Shukla, Krishna Kumar Saini, Councilor Arjun Gupta, Abhay Pratap Singh, Sheel Kumar Singh and a large number of businessmen were present in the meeting.
