According to sources, the ED investigation has revealed that platforms of companies like Google and Meta are being used for fake brand promotion and advertisements of online betting apps. These apps are not only illegal, but are taking millions of youth from across the country in the wrong direction. These speculative apps act like intoxication, and implicate users in their addiction.

22 crore people connected

Around 22 crore people in India are associated with such betting apps, in which 11 crore people are involved in them daily. In the first quarter of 2025, about 1.6 billion times were visited on these apps and sites. The online betting market in India has now reached $ 100 billion, and there is a tax of about Rs 27,000 crore every year.

Summons sent to big artists of Tollywood

In this case, summons have also been sent to many Tollywood artists, who were involved in the brand promotion of these apps. It is clear that these companies promoted such advertisements in the greed of money, which have had negative effects on the weaker sections of the society.
