Gopal khemka murder case: The police has got a big success in the murder of Patna’s famous businessman Gopal Khemka. According to sources, a shooter named Umesh has been arrested from the city. Umesh is one of the main accused in the murder. However, the arrest has not been officially confirmed. But the police may soon hold a press conference.

The murder took place at 11:40 pm on Friday night. When Khemka returned from Bankipur club and reached his house, the bike riders fired bullets at him. The family took Khemka to the hospital. But they could not be saved. This was the second time his family faced a shootout. His son was also shot in 2018.

Questions raised on removal of security

According to the information, Gopal Khemka was first provided security. But it was withdrawn in April 2024. After this, he did not apply for security again. Now the questions are arising whether it became the reason for the negligence murder.

CM convened emergency meeting

Soon after the incident, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar called a meeting to review the law and order and ordered to set up an SIT. He said that the rule of law in Bihar is the highest priority and no negligence will be tolerated.

Clues found after raid in Beur Jail

During the investigation, raids were conducted in Beur Jail in Patna. From where the police received a papers full of three mobiles, data cables and suspicious numbers. Some prisoners have also been questioned. The DGP said that the investigation is moving rapidly on the basis of technical and forensic evidence.

Family members accused of delay

Family members allege that the police arrived late. Due to which Khemka’s life could not be saved. However, DGP Vinay Kumar dismissed the claim that the police received information from the hospital and the officers had reached the spot at 12:40 pm.

Chirag Paswan expressed resentment

After the incident, there was a stir in political circles. Union Minister Chirag Paswan called it unfortunate and asked how such an incident could happen at a short distance from Gandhi Maidan police station. Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha met the victim’s family and assured him of justice.
