Haapur News: The bad system of power supply in the city’s line area has severely affected the general life. On Sunday night, people were suffering from the problem of electricity blind and low voltage in many areas including Housing Development Colony, Sarvodaya Colony, Amrit Vihar, Gandhi Vihar, Doymi Road, Mithlesh Vihar, Panchavati, Vaishali. In the humid summer, the undeclared power cuts have worsened the situation. Local people say that no prior information is given when the electricity will go and when it will come, which is badly affected by the routine. Due to low voltage, fans, coolers, fridge and other equipment are not able to function properly, causing children, elderly and sick people to face a lot of trouble.

Complaints neutralized, employees are not responding

Residents alleged that the employees of the electricity department neither pay attention to the complaints nor pick up the phone. Despite calling several times, there is no satisfactory answer, which is increasing resentment among consumers. People’s sleep is also getting affected badly due to lightning at night in summer.

Consumers performed strongly

On Monday, hundreds of consumers, troubled by the power crisis, surrounded the Superintending Engineer Office and shouted slogans. A large number of women were also present in the demonstration. People expressed displeasure over the negligence of the electricity department and demanded a quick solution. The protesters said that due to departmental apathy, they are facing daily troubles. No senior officials were present on the spot during the protest, which increased the outrage of the crowd.

Assurance of early solution

Electricity Corporation officials have assured that soon the problem will be resolved permanently and consumers will not be allowed to be disturbed. However, the local people have warned that if the power situation does not improve in a few days, they will intensify the movement.
