Haapur News: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) team took major action on Monday and raided a shop located on Gulavathi-Masuri Road and arrested a person who illegally manufacturing and selling railway e-tickets. 14 illegal e-tickets, a laptop and a printer have been recovered from the possession of the accused. RPF has registered a case in the case and started investigation.
Action on informant information
RPF police station in-charge Rajesh Yadav said that ASI Anjesh Kumar and his team had received information from secret sources that Shyam Chaudhary, resident of Hasanpur village of Dhaulana area, is illegally preparing the railway’s e-ticket from his shop on Gulavathi-Masuri Road and selling them at premium rates. As soon as the information was received, the team immediately took action and raided the concerned place.
E-tickets were being made from personal ID
Investigation revealed that the accused Shyam Chaudhary was preparing tickets through the IRCTC website or app using personal ID instead of the authorized business ID of the railway. According to the rules of the railway, commercial sales of tickets can only be done with business ID issued to authorized agents. Making tickets from personal ID and selling it at a higher price is not only a violation of the rules, but it is also a punishable offense.
14 e-tickets, laptops and printers seized
During the raid, the team recovered 14 prepared e-tickets, a laptop, a printer, and other digital equipment from Shyam Chaudhary’s shop which were being used to prepare e-tickets. The recovered tickets are being confirmed as to which passengers they were sold and how many money were sold.
Passengers were being looted at a higher price
In-charge Rajesh Yadav said that the accused was charging more than the value of e-tickets to the common passengers. In some cases the price of tickets has been doubled. Due to this, the passengers were suffering financial losses, on the other hand, the authorized system of the railway was also being damaged.
Railway ticketing system was reaching damage
This activity of illegal ticket sales was affecting the transparent and well -organized ticket system of the railway. Also, a situation of confusion between authorized agents and passengers was also arising. The Railway Protection Force, considering this act as serious, has registered a case against the accused in necessary legal sections.
Interrogation continues, may be more revelations
According to RPF, Shyam Chaudhary is being questioned. It is being investigated that no other person or gang was involved in this work with him. Also, it is also being seen that since when the accused was carrying out this work and so many passengers have been illegally recovered money.
Appeal of officials
RPF police station in -charge Rajesh Yadav has appealed to the general public to buy tickets only from the official portal of authorized agents or IRCTC. Buying tickets from any unauthorized person is not only illegal, but it can cause economic loss to passengers as well as travel.
