Shravasti news: A unique confluence of devotion and reverence was seen in the Shravasti district on the eve of the holy month of Sawan. On Sunday, thousands of kanwadis flocked to fill the water on the holy Rapti River Ghat, Laxman Barrage Jagapathi Dham and the historic Sitadwar Lake to fill the water.
The echo of the shouts of “Bol Bomb” and the enthusiasm of the saffron clothing Kanwari was worth seeing everywhere. These kanvadis gathered to perform Jalabhishek of Lord Shiva in nearby temples with the holy water. Devotees bathed in Rapti river and lakes and collected holy water and got absorbed in Shiva Bhakti.
A large crowd gathered on Monday’s eve
Giving information, Mahant Pandit Santosh Das Tiwari of Sitadwar Temple said that such a huge crowd throngs every Monday of Sawan. It not only sets religious faith, but also an example of unity, brotherhood and cultural tradition in society. He also organized Ganga Aarti on this occasion and blessed the Kanwari.
During this period, the police administration had also made special arrangements in Shravasti so that the Kavad Yatra could be done peacefully and safely. Barricading, first aid, refreshments and lighting were arranged on water sources.
