New Delhi. Malaria disease will be eliminated before Dengue in India. Indian scientists have prepared the first indigenous vaccine against malaria disease that is capable of not only infection but also the spread of its community. For the earliest production of this vaccine, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), New Delhi, has started the process of compromising with private companies. ICMR has informed that the discovery of malaria vaccine has been completed. It is currently named Edfalciax, which has been found to be fully effective against malaria parasitic Plasmodium Falciparum. Researchers at the ICMR and Bhubaneswar, Regional Medical Research Center (RMRC), together have prepared this indigenous vaccine.
India’s vaccine better than foreign vaccines…
Director General of ICMR, Dr. Rajiv Bahl said that at present, two vaccines of malaria are available, which cost about Rs 800 per dose. However, their effect is between 33 and 67 percent. Apart from this, RTS and R12/Matrix-M commentary are also being approved by Oxford University and World Health Organization in some countries of the world. In comparison, this vaccine of India shows a double impact in preventing the pre-blood vessel i.e. before reaching the blood and transmission-blocking i.e. infection.
Proves extremely effective in studies
So far, this indigenous vaccine of malaria has been completed by pre-Neddanic verification, which has been completed in collaboration with ICMR’s National Malaria Research Institute and National Institute of Immunity Sciences (NII). Dr. Sushil Singh, Senior Scientist of RMRC, said that this indigenous vaccine of India makes a strong antibody to prevent infection. He also said that in 2023, 26 crore estimated cases of malaria were registered globally, which is an increase of one crore cases compared to 2022.
