Meerut News: There is good news for electric drivers traveling on Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Corridor. Now the state-of-the-art fast e-vehicle charging stations have been commissioned at Guldhar and Duhai Namo India stations. Earlier this facility was launched at Sahibabad station. In this way, a total of three stations have now become such, where EV charging facilities are available.
This initiative of NCRTC is considered a big step towards strengthening clean energy and last mile connectivity. Both new charging stations have a high-voltage units of 50 kW capacity, which are capable of charging the vehicle up to 80 percent in just 30 minutes. Two vehicles can be charged simultaneously at another Duhai station at Guldhar station. The benefit of this facility can be availed through ‘ElectRefi’ mobile app. The entire process ranging from slot booking to payment through the app is digital. Also, the facility has been provided to track the charging situation of the vehicle in real time.
NCRTC informed that such EV charging facilities will also be provided at other stations of the corridor in the coming time. Apart from this, the goal of the organization is to meet 70 percent of the total energy requirement with solar energy. For this, solar plants are being set up at elevated stations and depots, which plan to produce about 11 MW clean energy. This initiative of NCRTC will not only facilitate passengers, but will also increase the trend to adopt electric vehicles in the surrounding areas.
