Meerut News: The city has been stirred by the plight and deaths of dozens of cows at a municipal corporation operated Gaushala in Meerut. On this issue, National Executive Member and Alumni Association President Ankit Chaudhary (Advocate) of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha met Animal Husbandry, Milk Development and Political Pension Minister Dharampal Singh at Meerut Circuit House.
Ankit Chaudhary, while handing over a detailed memorandum to the minister, said that the way the pictures of sick and hungry cows were revealed in the cowshed run by the Municipal Corporation on 14 July, she not only highlights the negligence of the administration, but also hurts the feelings of the entire Hindu society. He said that the doctor Harshal, who has been given the responsibility of Gaushala, has also been handed over the double duty of the Health Department, due to which the Gausseva is limited to paper only.
Many major demands were placed in the memorandum:
The rate of fodder of cows should be increased from ₹ 50 per cow to ₹ 100, so that they can get adequate nutrition.
A separate department should be formed to monitor cow shelter sites, which focused only on the maintenance of cowsheds.
The duty report of all the doctors appointed by the Chief Veterinary Officer should be presented and the responsibility should be fixed.
Strict action should be taken against the guilty officers to ensure that the incident of Meerut does not recur again.
Chaudhary also told the minister that if this Khanapuri and corruption going on in the name of Gausseva did not stop, then the intention of the government is sure to be questioned in the public. Taking all the points seriously, Minister Dharampal Singh assured action and said that “Service of cows is our priority, those who are negligent will not be spared.”
