Ghaziabad: Harsh Vardhan Jain, who runs a fake foreign embassy from a luxury bungalow in Kavinagar area of Ghaziabad (Harsh Vardhan Jain) has been arrested by UP STF. The accused was not only misleading people by calling himself an ambassador to fictional micronation like West Archca, but was also using facilities like diplomatic number plates, fake passports and embacsey.
Now in this case, West Arctica himself issued an official statement and has completely opposed the accused and said that Harsh Vardhan Jain has done many unauthorized activities in the name of the organization, which are against his rules. Along with this, it has also been said to fully cooperate with India’s investigative agencies.
The West Archictika is a fictional micronation that was launched by American citizen Travis McHeenry in 2001. Its main activity is environmental protection, especially with the West Antarctic ice sheet. It became a charitable corporation in 2014 and in 2018 it got a tax exemption in America.
West Archtika said that Jain was associated with the organization as a donor in 2016 and was given a prestigious but limited role of Honorary Consul to India. He made it clear that Jain was never given the status of diplomatic powers or ambassador. His work was only related to environment and charity, that too voluntarily in India.
Recently, at the time of his arrest, he was found to have a house being used as a fake passport, diplomatic number plates and ‘Embassy’. West Archtika said in his statement that the organization does not have its own passport or diplomatic plates, so his construction and use of Jain is a direct rule violation. Calling the house as Embassy and making false documents is against their policies.
West Arctic has suspended Harsha Vardhan Jain indefinitely. The organization said that it will cooperate fully with India’s investigative agencies. Also, he has started an internal audit of his entire Honorary Consular Corps, so that no other wrong person can misuse that name in future. Now the turn is of the investigation agencies, who will find out how many faces are included in this game of diplomatic fraud.
