Jabalpur. The issue of controversial statement of MP Minister Vijay Shah on Colonel Sophia Qureshi has now reached the High Court. The Madhya Pradesh High Court on Wednesday reprimanded Minister Vijay Shah, taking automatic cognizance of the controversial statement. The court ordered the police to immediately register an FIR against Minister Vijay Shah. During the hearing, a bench of Justice Atul Sreedharan and Justice Anuradha Shukla said many things.
Maybe tomorrow I can’t live…
The court directed the police department to register an FIR against Minister Vijay Shah by 6 pm on Wednesday. The court said its order that the Advocate General Office is directed to send this order immediately to the DGP office and ensure that it is followed. The court orally said- lodge an FIR now, do it immediately… I may not be alive tomorrow… I am giving you four hours time.
Warned the Director General of Police
Along with this, the court also directed to inform him about the FIR being registered. The court said that this should be done by evening. If this is not done, the court may also consider the proceedings for contempt of order against the Director General of Police of Madhya Pradesh tomorrow. The court said that in Shah’s statement, prima facie there is a tendency to create a sense of disharmony and enmity or hatred or maliciousness among the people of Muslim religion.
Derogatory statement for armed forces
A division bench of Justice Atul Sreedharan and Justice Anuradha Shukla said- Vijay Shah’s comments are derogatory and dangerous not only for the concerned officer but also for the armed forces. The court has been forced to take automatic cognizance of the indecent statement of the minister at an event in Raikunda village of Ambedkar Nagar, Mhow on Monday. Minister Vijay Shah has used ‘abusive language’ against a senior Indian Army officer.
