Mumbai, roads submerged in the first rains of monsoon, rail services and flights all affected

Mumbai. In the Mumbai (Mumbai) capital of Maharashtra (Mumbai), Rain has disturbed the lives of the people. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has released Orange to Red Alert for Mumbai and its suburban areas and warned of heavy rains and strong winds in the next three to four hours. The rains decreased around 10 am, but the sky is cloudy. The streets have been flooded in Gandhi Market of Sion area.

Mumbai’s IMD has estimated light to moderate rain in some parts of Mumbai for the next 24 hours. The city has been raining for the last several days, due to which there has been waterlogging in many areas and traffic is being disrupted.

The impact of rain was seen in the low -lying areas of Dadar, Parel, Kurla on Sunday and Monday. Both train and flight schedules have been affected due to rain. On May 25, 58 mm of rain was recorded in the city from 8 am to 8 am on May 26, 19 mm in the eastern suburbs and 15 mm in western suburbs.

Guidelines for air travel
Due to rain, companies providing flight services have issued advisory for customers. SpiceJet said in a social media post, “All departure/arrival and flights in Mumbai can be affected. Passengers request that they keep checking their flight status through http://spicejet.com/#status.”

Apart from this, Air India has also issued an advisory. It said, “Flight operation in Mumbai is being affected due to rain and thunderstorms. To make the journey experience easily, we encourage our passengers to check the status of our flight before going to the airport.”

Rail services affected, passenger complaining
Due to continuous rains in Mumbai, there was heavy waterlogging on railway tracks, which delayed the services of local trains. Trains are running five to ten minutes late from the scheduled time.

According to the agency, officials said, “Due to continuous rains of a few hours, there was waterlogging on many low -lying areas and railway tracks of Mumbai, affecting traffic and local train services on the roads on Monday morning.”

Due to the heavy, the tracks of the Central Railway Network at Mosque, Baykula, Dadar, Matunga and Badlapur railway stations were submerged, which slowed down the movement of trains in the busy hours in the morning. Swapnil Neela, Chief Public Relations Officer of Central Railway, said, “The movement of suburban local trains continues, but in some places they have low speed.”

Passengers complained that trains going towards Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus are running late. However, the Western Railway claimed that there is no waterlogging on its track and trains are running normally on its corridor. At the same time, passengers have complained of some delay. Waterlogging was observed in the low -lying areas including Kings Circle, Ministry, Dadar TT East, Parel TT, Kalachowki, Chinchpokali and Dadar Station and the movement of vehicles was affected.

According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the Nariman Point Fire Station (104 mm) was recorded the highest rainfall in the city. This was followed by A Ward Office (86 mm), Colaba Pumping Station (83 mm) and Municipal Corporation Headquarters (80 mm).
