Lucknow News: Vector -borne diseases like dengue, malaria and chikungunya are increasing rapidly in the monsoon season in the city. Lucknow Municipal Corporation has increased activity to prevent such disease. Fogging, anti -larvae spraying and public awareness activities have been accelerated in the city. The Municipal Corporation has appealed to the public to maintain cleanliness in their homes and around.
PA system to increase public awareness
The Municipal Corporation is regular review of the area -wise fogging and anti -larval activities. Officers are monitoring the works by visiting regional tour. The progress of the campaign at the ground level is being ensured. Along with this, the Municipal Corporation has launched a campaign through PA system and aerodronic screen to increase public awareness through audio-visual mediums.
The campaign will run for the next 4-5 months
According to Lucknow Municipal Corporation officials, this campaign will continue continuously for the next 4-5 months, in which information will be given about measures to prevent dengue and malaria. Monitoring of machines and equipment used in fogging and anti -larval functions has been increased. The Chief Engineer has been instructed to ensure immediate repair if any equipment is damaged.
Seamless supply of diesel for fogging
Along with this, uninterrupted supply of diesel is also being ensured for fogging works. The Municipal Corporation is also claiming to continuously monitor drains and waterlogging areas. ‘Source Reduction’ has been effectively implemented in the direction of ending possible sources of mosquitoes flourishing, giving priority to the system of drainage.
