Chadauli News: The four -day Kajri workshop held in Vananchal region of Chandauli district ended with cultural gaiety and melodious echo of folk notes. This workshop, organized at a private resort located on the banks of the panoramic waterfalls of the Chandraprabha Sanctuary area, saw a wonderful confluence of folk culture and natural beauty.

The main attraction of the workshop was Padmashri Malini Awasthi, who trained young artists, women and students from different corners of the country and other folk arts including traditional Kajri singing. He conveyed the nuances of Kajri singing as well as traditional folk songs and cultural values to the participants.

At the closing ceremony, the artists performed traditional folk dances and tied up. The entire platform came alive due to the echo and applause of the people’s applause. Malini Awasthi captivated everyone with the performance of popular Kajri songs like “Pia Mehndi Liaida”, “Motijheel”, “Kachori Gali Suna Stola Rajau” in her melodious voice.

Avnish Awasthi, the chief advisor to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, was present as the chief guest on the occasion. Along with him, many senior administrative officers and public representatives of the district including CDO, Additional SP, CO, SDM also became part of this cultural event.

The event was not only an inspiring effort towards conservation of folk culture, but was also successful in providing a new identity to Chandauli on the map of cultural tourism. Such events encourage local art and artists, and promote regional culture.
