Gwalior: Eid-ul-Azha i.e. Bakrid will be celebrated on June 7 across the country. However, a case of the petitioner’s High Court has come to light after not getting permission to sacrifice on the occasion of Bakrid in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh (Madhya Pradesh). The Gwalior Bench of Madhya Pradesh High Court has given an important decision on the controversy over this.
The case is related to Hydergarh Gram Panchayat in Vidisha district, where the panchayat sarpanch refused to sacrifice at a special place. Against this, the petitioner had filed a petition directly in the High Court demanding permission. The petition said that they should be allowed to sacrifice on the day of Bakrid at a designated place in the Gram Panchayat area.
However, the single bench of the court dismissed the petition and made it clear that the petitioner does not have the right to come directly to the High Court. The court also said that before challenging any decision of the Gram Panchayat, it is necessary to follow the appeal process under the Gram Panchayat Act. The court also said that as long as subordinate statutory measures are available, the petitioner should not knock the door of the High Court directly.
Along with this, the High Court ordered the concerned SDO to consider the complaint of the petitioner by 6th and resolve it. This order of the court is being considered as an important initiative towards not increasing the dispute at the panchayat level and the solution of problems at the local level. This decision also emphasizes that efforts should be made to solve the first subordinate level on sensitive issues.
