Premanand Ji Maharaj answered these questions in one of his discourses, which is becoming increasingly viral on social media nowadays. In this discourse, he kept some of the public in the category of “superstition” directly to get out of these misleading beliefs and come to the shelter of God.
What is eye defect?
Many people here say that someone’s “evil eye” or jealousy can create obstacles in their lives. People apply black vaccines to their children, paste the picture of the monster on the glass of the new car or hang lemon-chillies at the shop to avoid someone’s irritation or eye. Many feel that someone’s praise can also become “negative energy”.
Saint Premanand ji’s answer to this – When a devotee asked Maharaj ji the question whether good works are interrupted due to eyesight, he clearly rejected this confusion. He said- “If someone is blessed by anyone, then he does not see the sight of time.” Maharaj Ji said that “things like sight, tantra-mantra, witchcraft are completely imagination.” If all this was really effective, then good people in the world would never have been successful and bad people would always harm others.
No eye defect, our deeds decide the direction of life
Premanand ji said that whatever happens in life is the fruit of our own deeds. He clarified: “Nobody can spoil anyone’s fate. The reason for happiness and sorrow is only his actions.”
If someone abused someone and after some time there was any problem in his life, it could be just a coincidence. It is not that there was a supernatural power in the dialect of that person.
The message of Guru Granth Sahib also says the same- Maharaj Ji said in the discourse that it is written in “Guru Granth Sahib” – ‘Everything inside Hukum e, outside Hukum Na Koy.’ This means that whatever happens in the universe is by the command of God, no other power from outside can determine it. Can someone’s praise or burning sensation reduce wealth?
In response to a question, when asked whether the property of a rich could decrease from the eyes, then Maharaj ji laughed and said that-
“If these things were true, then all the rich people of the world would have come on the road.” Jealous, burning – all these are human tendencies. But no one changes the fate of them. The change that comes comes in the form of the will of God and the fruits of our actions.
Every amangal is averted by the grace of God
Maharaj Ji said in the discourse that “If you have the vision of God on you, then no one else’s sight can have any effect.” The grace of God is our real security shield. Neither mantra, no curse, no tantric method – If God’s name is in life, then no other power can touch you. Maharaj Ji says that many people put scary pictures on the walls of the house, hang up the shoes, and believe that it will keep evil forces away.
His answer was: “If any image is to be installed, then apply God, there is no welfare from scary symbols.” It all falls under the category of superstition and increases the feeling of fear and insecurity within us.
The basic mantra of success in any work is the name of God, Maharaj Ji says – “Get out of the house chanting Radha-Radha, there will be no obstruction.”
The name of God is the energy that protects us, not an external object or trick. Sakhis’s sacrifice and black vaccine: A sign of love, not fear, when Radha Rani is adorned or children are vaccinated, it is not to protect against eye defects, but an expression of love and emotion.
Premanand ji has said that “Nikunj can get an eye? All these are actions of love, not a tantric remedy.” Black vaccine to the child is also a symbol of this affection, not any divine remedy.
Get above superstition, go to the Lord’s shelter, this is the complete message of Saint Premanand Ji Maharaj- the perceptions like eye defects, magic-bearing are only mental illusion. Whatever happens in life, it is done by the grace of our actions and God.
